USCIS has updated its “blank space” policy for U Visa and asylum cases and reverted to its pre-2019 policy.  Under the former policy, USCIS should no longer reject I-918, Form I-918 Supplement A, or I-589 applications for leaving a space blank in response to a question that is not applicable to the applicant. 

Attorneys should still carefully review all filings. USCIS can still reject filings that leave answers to required questions blank or do not fully answer all required questions.  For more information, please see USCIS’s announcement here.
