This practice advisory provides guidance to practitioners inside the Seventh Circuit who wish to request adjudication from an immigration judge or Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) of their waivers of U visa admissibility. It also will help litigants in other jurisdictions to effectively argue to other courts and to the BIA that noncitizen crime victims in removal proceedings should be allowed to access U visa protections before the immigration court.
