Immigrants are a part of the fabric of our community. Some of them are also survivors of crimes committed in the U.S. This is an orientation for pro bono attorneys interested in supporting the NIJC U Visa and/or VAWA pro bono program.
NIJC prepares pro bono attorneys to assist immigrant survivors of domestic violence who are eligible to petition for protection under the VAWA. This training also includes practical tips for trauma-informed lawyering with survivors of domestic violence.
