More than 40 elected officials from the House of Representatives signed a letter calling on U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to investigate how it handles sexual assault reports in detention centers. The letter was in part prompted by community outcry after Laura Monterrosa faced retaliation for speaking out about being sexually assaulted while in detention. Read full article
