Galyna won the diversity visa lottery and had a chance to come to the U.S. from Ukraine to begin a new life. Yanelli fled violence and everything she'd ever known in Mexico, and had to start over in a country where she felt all alone. Both found community and opportunity for themselves and their children that they never imagined.
